Midtown Art Retail Restaurant Scene. The name says it all.
The MARRS Building is Midtown’s hottest retail destination and has easily become the heart of midtown, Sacramento. The building, formerly a warehouse, was creatively reimagined into modern offices over tasteful restaurants and retailers by Heller Pacific Inc, in partnership with Fulcrum Property, around 2005
MARRS was a pivotal moment for the city of Sacramento as it truly was the first of its kind. Taking an unused block in the center of our city and building out a unique experience that celebrates all things art, food, craft and community. It quickly became a connector of the art gallery community to the north and the Lavendar District to the South. MARRS succeeded in Mike Heller’s goal of bringing all kinds of people together into one creative and diverse district.
This project has helped transform and shape the beginnings of placemaking in Sacramento. It boasts one of the best and most interactive weekend farmer’s markets, a variety of local performances, music and outdoor festivals. It’s built around the notion of urban living, walkability, community and celebrates all things Sacramento.
MARRS has Heller written all over it. If you are familiar with Michael Heller’s projects, then you know. Heller of Heller Pacific is responsible for some of the most unique projects in the City and has helped to create a coolness factor here in Sacramento that is attracting transplants from all over.
It remains the heartbeat of Midtown and a great gathering spot for the neighborhood.
